Aughinish Laboratory Upgrade

This project consisted of the upgrading of the laboratory at Aughinish Alumina Ltd. The laboratory was the largest of four and was situated between the remaining three restricted area laboratories which had to remain fully operational throughout the duration of the contract. Scope of the contract consisted of demolition of 5 existing rooms within the laboratory and their upgrade with new floors, furniture, services, ceilings and wall coverings. A lift was also installed to connect the upper and lower levels of the laboratory. The contract posed numerous difficulties due to the sensitivity and continual operation of adjoining laboratories combined with access restrictions and the need for continual access through the construction site during the contract. |
