This project involved the extension of two occupies buildings within a live Pharmaceutical Plant where no disruption of the 24hr production line was permissible. Works were carried out in the vicinity of the clean room facilities. This project consisted of: The Demolition & Extension of Existing Canteen & Office Space. Construction of a new Quality Control Laboratory. The decommissioning and re-commissioning of mechanical and electrical services and associated groundwork’s including the installation of an FM approved underground firemain. All works had to be carried out under a strict timeframe and had to ensure that the facility stayed fully operational at all times. As the works were carried out adjacent to live facilities this necessitated: Cordoning off and protecting live areas. Close control of demolition and removal of waste material. Temporary weathering and soundproofing of work areas. Installation of new flat roofs on live areas without affecting their use by the client. The work to the canteen was carried out in three phases; two construction phases and finally demolition of existing Canteen to allow continued use of facilities during the construction phase. The Quality Control Laboratory works consisted of single storey steel and concrete construction with a suspended concrete on metal deck roof to allow for a potential future first floor. |
