| KEELDERRY WINDFARM ROADS Keelderry, Peterswell, Co. Galway. |
This project consisted of the construction of 12Km of roadway on a peat bog covered mountainside. A floating road system was constructed using geogrid ground reinforcement technology and all road materials were extracted and processed on site. Where roads ran through forestry area trees were placed under the road for added stability. Approximately 125,000 tonnes of material for road construction was blasted and crushed from on site quarries. Particular attention was required to minimise the risk of bog slippage and environmental impact on this site. |
