We currently employ approximately 70 direct staff. The majority of whom are from a technical background. We place great pride in our staff as our success is attributed to their expertise and dedication.
We have a low staff turnover with some of our most valued employees have been with us since our beginnings in 1987.

Gordon O’Regan, CEO & Managing Director
Gordon is accountable to the Board and is responsible for the strategic leadership of the business.
This includes overseeing the implementation of development and growth strategies to ensure a successful and sustainable business.
Current priorities include refreshing the value proposition, structure and governance of the business to deliver real value for our customers, and to drive operational improvements to meet current and future challenges.
Gordon is an experienced and inspirational leader who recognises the contribution and achievements of all individuals and teams. He is passionate about engaging with and supporting people to achieve their potential. Reinforcement of the safety culture and leading the development of corporate responsibility are fundamental to Gordon’s values based approach.
Prior to joining the business Gordon made his mark in a number of senior executive leadership roles within major civil engineering and infrastructure organisations in the UK.
Gordon’s personal interests include Rugby, GAA & boxing – to the extent that his young family will allow!
Louis Keating, Preconstruction Director
Louis Keating graduated from Trinity College in 1981 with 1st class honours. In 2010 he was accepted as a Fellow of Engineers Ireland.
Before starting the company he worked at home and abroad for a large multinational civil engineering company on prestigious projects such as Expo ’92, Mountjoy Prison, Shannon aircraft engine rebuilding facility and the Ireland/UK Gas Interconnector Pipeline. In 1987 he set up L & M Keating Ltd. near its current headquarters in Kilmihil, Co. Clare. Through a flair for cutting edge engineering, Louis has steered the company toward technically challenging projects particularly in the civil, marine and dredging sectors.
Louis is a keen sailor and yachtmaster enjoying both cruising and competitive sailing. He also enjoys diving and car restoration.
Lorchan Hoyne, Contracts Director
Lorchan graduated from University College Dublin in 1994 with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering and Trinity College with a Diploma in Project Management and a Diploma in Environmental Engineering in 1997 and 2001. Lorchan worked for 12 years with a multinational building and civil engineering contractor on a number of major projects up to €50M value before joining the company in 2006 as Contracts Director. Lorchan is a Chartered Engineer and has led the company to our ISO 9001:2008 certification and to national awards for our Health & Safety Management Systems.
Lorchan’s past times include rugby coaching & cycling.
Jim Kelly, UK Contracts Director
Jim is a qualified and chartered Civil Engineer with over twenty years. He graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) Dublin Institute of Technology 1988 and is currently a member of the Institute of Engineers and the Institute of Project Managers. He has gained experience in a wide variety of projects within heavy civil and marine infrastructure sectors in the UK, Europe and Australia progressing from roles as an Engineer, through to Project Manager, Project Director, Regional Director and currently Contracts Director.
Jim's personal interests include soccer, GAA and golf.
Richard Graduated from NUI, Galway as a Civil Engineer and after working with O’Connor Sutton Cronin, consulting Engineers rejoined the company in 2007. Richard has an aptitude for the management of technically challenging projects and the ability to develop contractor led innovative solutions to construction challenges. Richard has managed some of our most technically challenging design build projects particularly in our Marine and Civil divisions. As a member of the Engineers Ireland Heritage Committee, Richard has expertise in conservation techniques particularly in the area of lime mortars. In 2015 Richard was awarded the title of Engineers Ireland, Chartered Engineer of the Year.
Richard's personal interests include sailing, running & cycling.
Brian O'Loughlin, Director
Brian graduated from Limerick Institute of Technology in 1992 with a degree in Quantity Surveying and has since attained membership of SCS and RICS. Brian worked for 13 years in the UK with both PQS practices, subcontractors and main contractors on projects ranging from groundwork subcontracts to €150m office fit-outs at Canary Wharf. Brian joined L&M Keating in 2007 and is head of tendering and quantity surveying. Brian is a Chartered Member of the RICS.
Brian has a keen interest in sport and traditional music.
