Port of Cork, Cobh Mooring Dolphins

Construction of 3 over water mooring dolphins to facilitate the newest mega sized class cruise ships of >5,000 pax. The 3 new dolphins consist of 2m thick RC decks supported on 16x914mm diameter reinforced concrete filled steel tubular piles. The piles are raked at 1:3 and rock socketed. The dolphins are also anchored with 1000kN DCP tensile rock anchors. Temporary works were a significant element of this contract requiring contractor designed over water temporary piling 100t platforms and floating plant to be installed and dismantled between shipping schedules.
