This project involved the design and construction of the dedicated foot passenger ferry terminal pontoon finger piers and associated infrastructure at the newly dredged ferry basin and small craft harbour basin at Rossaveel Harbour. The works comprise of the design, fabrication, transport and installation of three steel pontoons, including ballast, to provide a total of six berths for the specified design ferries. Also, the design, fabrication, transport and installation of linkspan structures between the onshore bank seats and the pontoons including all structural steelwork, hinges and slipper bearings, safety restraint chains, security gates, hanging off piles and corrosion protection. The pontoons and linkspans are supported on rock socketed tubular steel piles, designed and installed by L&M Keating Ltd. and arched to reinforce concrete back seat structures also designed by L&M Keating Ltd. |
