Works consisted of repair works to Shannon Ferries Tarbert Terminal. Work included: Removal of organic matter from stonework and joints, removal of loose and inadequate masonry joints and restoration of masonry stonework at required sections of wall to be repaired Replacement of missing and loose stonework with new sawn sandstone blocks and make up stone. Re-pointing of stone masonry outer face of walls using a natural hydraulic lime mortar. Grouting of the walls using a pumped natural hydraulic lime grout. Replacement of existing pier fenders with new larger fendering and impact protection. Extension of underwater concrete slipway. Works consisted of extensive diving operations due to below water fender levels and slipway extension requirements below water level mark. |
